TECHNIQUE BLOG HOP-Quick Glitz using Glitter Gel

WELCOME to our Technique Blog Hop!! This month there are 13 of us highlighting "Quick Glitz" as shown on page 35 of the

Take a look at this 12x12 overlay page I created with clear cardstock,

stamps, and glitter!

Will the Cricut cut slippery material like a heavy transparency? Absolutley! I admit, I was a little nervous, but it cut it like butta!I have been kicking this idea around for awhile, and decided to give it a try. I used my Art philosophy cartridge and cut an offset circle
on my 12x12 clear sheet. Then I applied StazOn White ink with a sponge around the circle to give it the frosted window look. Then stamped all kinds of snowflakes around the page.

Add some Bling and glitz baby!

Can't wait to get a photo in there!

I used the Snowflakes stamp set #D1480, which I also was able to cut the image out with the cricut and stamped Snow Flurries #D1384. What  pretty snowflakes! I also used liquid glass to apply the bling in the center of each of the big snowflakes and some silver Glitz glitter gel (Z1482)around the center of the rhinestone. Then I used some Stardust glitter Gel and applied some swirls around the circle I cut in the page, and added some more chunky glitter on top of that! Talk about sparkle. WHoa!!! The snowflakes I cut out using the Art Philosophy cartridge, where all glittered up too, along with the "SNOW" title.
The background paper I used behind the clear page is "Magnifique".

one more project....

Dear Santa Card..

I used the "Believe Workshop on the Go" stamp set
to make this adorable card. The Art Philosophy Cartridge available
through Me and Close To My Heart was very helpful cutting the circles and
scallop sizes I needed to make my card look perfect.
His beard POPS off the card by using White Liquid Applique and then
heated with a heat tool (or hair dryer). It gives it the popcorn look
and then applied some crystal glitter gel to make it sparkle a little.

Love that little ribbon slide!! Looks like Santas Belt Buckle!!

Wonderland Holiday Organizer

Everyone could use a little organization right?
Today here in Flower Mound,Tx, it is a rainy yucky day, and its a
perfect day to stay in a craft or clean and organize stuff. I started
with my purse, which has a lot of receipts and
holiday lists stuffed here and there.  I made this little organizer which is almost too cute to use though. It is made from a 2-pocket school folder. Can you see it? Make sure you get one without the prongs in it.

I used CTMH Wonderland paper to cover the sections of the folder
and Cricut-Art Philosophy cartridge available here to make the
pretty snowflakes.
The Big white snowflake was cut at 4 1/2", the blue was cut at 3-1/2
and the small white one in the center was 2-1/2. THe beautiful rhinestone brad in the center is oh so pretty!

Below shows the receipt envelope. To make this

use a lefal sized envelope and seal it closed. Cut a 1/4"

off the short end and cut a small decorative piece of

paper to make a flap and round the corners.Attach a ribbon on THE BACK before you attach the flap on the back. Fold over to the front to cever the open end of the envelope. Stamp RECEIPTS along the side.

Technique Tuesday-Ghosting

Today I made a 4x4 card using this technique with  snowflakes.

Step 1, Stamp image using Versa Mark ink. In this case, I stamped the snowflakes.Sprinkle clear embossing powder over image, tap of excess, and heat with a craft heater.

Step 2. Sponge around image with contrasting ink (Twilight, and Pacifica) to creat a negative image.

Step 3. Place clean piece of paper over embossed image. Heat with iron to transfer embossing powder to scrap paper to remove the shine of the embossing powder for a matte finish.

Attach this strip of snowflakes to a small strip of contrasting paper
and assemble your card.
The photo below shows the sizes I used and supplies. I also used
My Acrylix stamp set D1480 Snowflakes, Wonderland B&T paper and Believe workshop on The Go Stamp set.

9x9 Dimensional Christmas Album

WOOHOO! I finished another one of my favorite Christmas albums for 2011.
It has such a wow factor when you open it. It sparkles and has such dimension to it..I will be posting the directions for these soon.
 I have had sooo much on my plate these days-My son just finished his Eagle project, and that has taken up so much of my focus time. He started scouting in 2010 when he was 15-1/2 and has completed everything
with only 2 months before his 18th birthday in 2012..Way to go baby!!
So now maybe there will be more time to focus on the stuff that
I love TOO!!

Dimensional 9x9 Halloween Album

Dont ya just love fall?? It gets my creative juices flowing to create
Halloween stuff. This new workshop is for my customers who like
over-the-top creations. I took a 9x9 Memory showcase album
and made a pop out dimensional book that you can even leave out for display.

It has a belly band wrapped around the whole thing to slide off. And when you open it. BADABOOM! Its so stinking cute!

 This is the first page section. Its so sparkly with the black glitter.
I used the leftover pieces from my "Mischief Workshop on the Go" kit
to complete the layouts.

The Black cat and tombstone were a Quickcuts Diecut,

and the pumpkins and trees were cut using the Cricut Art Philosophy

cartridge. Look at that little spider...how cute!

 This is the 2nd page section..More sparkly trees, and pumpkins.
And stamped bats using the stamp set included the the Mischief Workshop on the Go kit.

One tip to make big areas sparkle evenly, after you cut

your shape with the cricut, run it through the Xyron. It will be full

of adhesive when you pull the backing off, Then apply your glitter.

Much easier than using a gluepen etc..

Below is a close up of the belly band that slips off

to keep the book closed.

Masking Technique-Blog Hop

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!There are 11 of us participating in the Masking Technique hop. THis technique is shown on page 15 of the Autumn/Winter 2011 Idea Book, and uses the milepost shapes as a "mask".
Essentially masking is a way to stamp only a portion of an image by covering all or part of a stamped image so that other images may be placed partly over it without the overlapping area being visible

If you are coming from  Michelle's Blog, you are on the right track!

This is the card we will be making using a Circle

for the "mask".

Cut a 2-1/2 circle from a piece of cardstock

                           This will be your masking template
                      

Use the cardstock piece with the circle cut out as your

stencil and begin sponging Sunflower Ink (Z2150)

and shading the inside edge with Sunset (Z2191)

                Remove the template and just lookie! Isn't that cool?

Now take that 2-1/2" circle you cut out in the beginning, and

place it over the inked circle image, and begin making your

spooky,smokey background. I used Hydrangea(Z2129)

and Pacifica(Z2192) and Black

                       Then lift off the circle mask, and wha-la!

You are now ready to stamp the little witch flying across the moon

I used My Acrylix Fright Night (B1359) from page 68 in the Autumn Winter Idea Book

Then you can cut out a design for your sentiment

I used the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge to cut a cute little

Attach to the front of your card, then layer with another accent piece of cardstock, and a little bling for the stars.

Liebster Blog Award "Dearest"

Wowee! I dont know what to say!! I guess Im doing pretty good job with this blogging thingy. When I started exploring how to create my own blog just a month ago, I must say it was overwhelming at first. After asking many people for help or tips,(not knowing how long it would take), I finally decided to sit on my butt all weekend and try to come up with something that I could call my own on the Internet. After many tweeks, deletes, copy and pastes. It's here. Not perfect, not exactly the way I would like it to be after seeing SO many creative ones. but it will do for now.
Its been really fun adding my photos of stuff I create. I find that I do try to push the envelope a little when it comes to my creations. But us crafters I think all have one common thing, the need to create. If I dont have my hands in some kind of paper, sparkle, glue or paint...Im grumpy!

Here is one of my "accidents" I created while making a snowman.
Yeah, dont ask how it evolved into an Angry bird. But it did!

How clever is this for a party or as a treat for workshop attendees?
This is just the right size to slip over the top of a water bottle and
put a small cookie and a drink flavor packet inside.
I used the Art Philosophy cartridge to cut my circle and scallop,
then used My Acrylix stamp sets B1359 Fright Night, and the
Mischief Workshop on the Go stamp set G1029.
I just love our acrylix stamp sets, they are so versatile. I was able to

put 3 images on 1 acrylic block to make it look like 1 stamp

to say Im feeling WICKED.
