I just love making these pieced characters. They can be used for scrapbooking, bulletin boards at school. Would love to hear what you used your for!

Here is a new addition to the Candy Cane Toppers.
This is my little Elf I created using the Cricut Artiste!
Super easy to do too!  I am Working on a printable
sheet like the other toppers, but I will go ahead and
post the cutting sizes so anyone wanting to make these
can get started.

ELF Jumbo Candy Cane Topper

 

All supplies used are CTMH unless otherwise

Stated.
Supplies:
Cardstock- Parchment,Holiday Red, Autumn Terracota, Sunflower, Black,White Daisy, Indian Corn Blue
Cricut Artiste Cartridge, Jumbo Candy Cane, Glitter.

Directions:
Head (Pg 79 - 3D shape ornament  cut at 5")
         Parchment CS
Ears  ( Pg 54 - "F" accent 4  cut at 3/4" x2) 
         Parchment CS
Nose ( Pg 36 - "6" accent 2 cut at 1" ) Parchment CS
Hair  (Pg 70 - "Happy Birthday accent 4, cut at 
         1-1/4") x3 -Autumn Terracota CS
Hat   ( Pg 61 - "Z" Shift, 3D Object, cut at 14")
         Holiday Red CS
Hat Brim ( Pg 70 - "Happy Birthday" accent 4.
               cut at 1-1/4") White Daisy CS
Eyes ( 1" punch, then cut in half-Parchment,
        Cut 2, White Daisy, 3/4 circle Indian corn 
        blue x2, 1/2" circle Black x2.
After all pieces are cut, begin accenting the edges with ink pads to get the shading you like. I used HollyHock Ink to create the cheeks and nose colors.
Attach the nose ( I bumped it up a bit), then assemble the eyes and attach just behind the nose. Dry fit the hair around the face before attaching the white brim.
You will need to trim the brim (cupcake liner) so it doesnt look so much like a sailor hat. I cut the angle off.
Then attach your ears, and then fold the red hat and attach behind the brim.
Glitter the Santa hat and attach the bell( I used the Marvy Bell Punch).
And lastly put the twinkle in his eye, and draw the mouth and inside of ears, and eyebrows.
Attach to candy cane with a super glue dot.
EASY!!


Also I took him a little bit further and created the whole body for this cute little fellow!
His body was also made with the Artiste Cartridge, even the boots and the furry cuffs (cupcake shape cut at 1-1/4")
except for his arms and legs, which were cut using the
Art Philosophy (long skinny oval).
His little green outfit was cut at 5" with the shield shape.

PAPER FLOWER WREATH-Made with the CRICUT

Create this beautiful paper wreath or candle ring by using the Art Philosophy Cartridge and your Cricut.

Each Flower was cut in sizes ranging 3 to 4 1/2" in various

shades of our beautiful cardstock. I selected 4 different flower variations and rolled them up, and secured with a little bit of hot glue.

Then I started arranging them on the styrofoam base (12") ring with

a corsage pin that has the pearl end on it. The result is just amazing

when it is all finished.

This wreath I made was recently published in the March 2012 issue of

Cricut Magazine! WooHoo.

I submitted it as a candle wreath with a big glass hurricane.

But they changed it to a wreath. Either was its pretty fall decor!

Make your Cricut Mat new again!

Refurbish your Cricut Mat

This is the easiest, fastest, cost effective and healthiest way to refurbish a Cricut mat that I personally have discovered that actually works well.

1. Start with your used mat, a sink and a scrapper (old credit card works well).

2. Get yourself a bottle of Goo Gone (spray is the best) and then spray your mat. Wait a couple of minutes.

3. Scrape away. It should be an easy process, if not spray more and/or wait a little longer.

4. Wash with warm soapy water and dry.

5. Use this product. Zig glue wide.

6. When the glue is wet it comes out blue. Run the applicator down the mat in lines avoiding the no cut areas. IT ONLY NEEDS ONE COAT! Let dry (glue will turn clear) and place mat protector on the mat until ready for use.

Cricut Art Philosophy Witches Hat

How do you create a paper witches hat for a Funkin Pumpkin?
Well with the Cricut Art Philosophy of course! Isn't this too cute?
I first started making a witches hat for my pumpkin, then it turned into

a whole Mr Potato head type thing. I cut the eyes with the Cricut, and used the 3D flower layer to make the eyelashes for her eyes.  The little spider dangling from the witches hat was made from the Bling Assortment Buttons from Close To My Heart and some black waxy flax. The mouth is made from pewter brads, and the hat is made from our paper line Mischief.

Notice the dangling spider from the tip of the hat.

Step 1 Cut brim at 8-1/2"
The Cone is a 12" circle
Quartered and attached
with Liquid glass.

Step 2 Add the scallop layer cut at 8-1/4"

Step 3 Add a layer of color
under the dots

Ghostly Treat Box & Candy Slider

What a Great little extra treat this would be to a teacher, or best friend! I used Close to My Hearts' Cricut Art Philosophy to cut

the box and to make the ghost!! Booooo

I cut the box using the "fit to page" option on my Cricut

expression. The Ghost face was cut at 4 1/2", the eyes started at

1 1/2" and worked my way down to smaller sizes. The nose was

a 1 1/4" circle.

I used My Acrylic stamp set C1462 All Hallows Eve.

The bat was a punch that I attached to a small piece of wire

and wrapped it around a pencil, then attached under the

stamped image.

Add a Candy Bar Slider

Items needed to make the slider

• 6" x 5 1/2" piece of cardstock for candy cover
• 3 1/2"x 6" piece of B&T for belly band (optional)
• Scoring tool
• Sticky Strip™
• Ribbon (about 30" needed)
• Big Hershey™ bar
• Stamps
• Scissors
• Ink
• Hole punch
• Additional cardstock for decoration

Score cardstock at 1 3/4", 2", 4 1/2, 4 3/4 .
close with redline tape.
attach accent piece around for belly band. Punch hole thru both sides
in the middle at the end for the ribbon.
Put ribbon thru hole and pull up even. Place candybar in the candy cover while sliding it down the middle of the ribbon. Tie a bow at the
end after your candy bar is inside.
Congrats! you have just created a slider!! pull the end of the candy bar with the ribbon and it will magically go back in with the ribbon

"SPOOKY" Project Workshop

October is going to be a SPOOKY good time! We will
be making this project using 12" paper mache letters and the NEW Moonlight Paper Packet X7161b and dimensional elements X7161c.
Creativity is a breeze with the Cricut ARTISTE cartridge Z1790.
Those little coffins, tombstones, BOO, EEK, and black cat were all cut out using the ARTISTE. Even the spider web border and skeleton.
I cant wait to get started on this! The dates are Oct 11th & 12th
at 6:30pm

Happy Birthday to me! Depressing as it is-Today is an "O" year
Today. Im not going to say which one **sniff sniff**
And..since Im ALWAYS on some sort of a diet, I made a completely
fat free "forever" cake made out of paper. But isnt it
Sweeeet??
 I created it with the new

Artiste Cricut Collection.

 It is simply amazing what you can do with this new
cartridge!

• Cut box (3D option) at 8" real dial size from Chocolate CS.  
• Cut box lid at 4-1/4" (3D option) White CS.                         
• Cut rose or flower choice at 5"                                               
•   Cut scallop oval for sides on cake slice at 3-3/4" (cut in 1/2)    
• Cut leaves at 1-1/2 "
• Cut bottom Doily at 11-1/2" set matt to 24" to cut  

Assemble box with adhesive, then assemble the lid, but don't
glue the back together, snip the end side tabs off at an angle
as shown. Then secure the lid to the back of the box with glue.
This will give the cake box a clean look without the scallops on
the side. If you want the scallops, then you will need to cut
the box lid to 4-1/2" instead.
Next make your flowers and secure them to the top of the lid
along with the leaves. This will enable you to open and
shut the lid of the box and act as a knob. Then cut the
oval scallop a little more than in half and glue onto the sides of
the cake slice on both sides.
Stamp sentiment from the Artiste Collection onto 1-1/2" circles
and layer with coordinating circle and secure to back of
box.
Cut Large doily for whole cake to sit on.
